Welcome to my Shadow Shopper review!
You may have heard of a thing called mystery shopping. It’s a pretty popular practice among small businesses and even larger corporations. There are plenty of companies out there that need mystery shoppers in order to operate efficiently.
If you are confused or you just haven’t heard about mystery shopping then don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
So mystery shopping is when a paid person goes into a store or multiple stores pretending to be a regular customer. These paid shoppers preform regular shopping tasks like asking employees questions and waiting in line.
It’s just regular shopper activity, but you get paid for it!
Some companies will even pay you for going out and shopping at a place then leaving a review. There is a solid opportunity to make money here, but the money isn’t enough to be a full time job.
Mystery shopping should serve as something you do here and there to make a couple of bucks. I don’t know everything but I don’t think there are many full time mystery shoppers.
Today we have a business offering a “mystery shopper program”. We are going to dive deeper into the business to see whether or not this can serve as a legitimate business opportunity.
I am not affiliated with mystery shopper so you can expect a 100% unbiased review. No affiliate links leading to their website will be included in this review.
Lets get right into it.

Shadow Shopper Review: The company
I am just as interested to see what this company has to offer as you probably so let make sure we cover all of our bases on this one. First thing’s first let’s take a look at who the founders and CEO’s of this company are.
After doing a little research, I couldn’t find much in terms of a founder or CEO for Mystery Shopper.
I did find out that this company is based out of Morgan, Utah. They are not accredited by the Better Business Bureau and have one complaint in the last year talking about a Nigerian scam.
Not many great talking points so far. Let’s keep pushing through and take a look at what Shadow Shopper has to offer us.
Shadow Shopper Products
So shadow shopper doesn’t offer any retail products or anything like that because they serve as a mystery shopping platform. Shadow Shopper is just a hub for mystery shopping programs. This means that they aren’t directly hiring you to go out and mystery shop.
That is no problem though nothing out of the ordinary with that.
Shadow Shopper serves as a middle man for the companies looking to hire. Here’s how the whole process works:
- You get the assignment from a company. This includes which store to go, and what you need to do.
- Go to the store mentioned in the assignment and do the assigned tasks.
- Some of the assigned tasks will include:
- Checking if certain products have price tags
- Check the prices of the company’s competition
- Assess the customer service provided by the company
- And a whole more…
- You fill up the form provided to you and give necessary feedback
- You submit the form to them and await their review. This takes anywhere between 24 and 48 hours.
- You get compensated if your feedback gets approved
This is a pretty straight forward opportunity for those of you who want to get involved in mystery shopping.

Shadow Shoppers Compensation Plan
In order to get started with Shadow Shoppers you must be at least 18 years old and you must live in either USA, Canada, or Australia. You must of course have a way to get to the stores. So a reliable form of transportation is a must.
Joining Shadow Shoppers is free but they do offer a gold membership which is a must if you want to really gain access to jobs. The free bronze membership only allows you to see jobs from 7 days ago. You can also see Promoted jobs but those tend to go fast.
With the paid gold membership you gain access to all of the bronze perks plus access to the most recent job postings so there will be no shortage in jobs. Here’s a comprehensive list of what’s offered.
As you can see a gold membership is a monthly fee of $6.95 for a month $9.95 for 60 days and $47.95 for a year.
Is Shadow Shopper A Scam? My Verdict
Shadow Shopper is not a scam. That being said I don’t know if they solicit your contact information out to other companies that will scam you. The BBB review did claim that someone called them and scammed them but I don’t know the full details of what’s going on there.
All in all nm.n If you are interested in being a mystery shopper then you should definitely take advantage.
Beware of any large income claims though. Like I mentioned early in this review, Mystery shopping is not a extremely lucrative way to make money. Turning this into a full time income will be nearly impossible but if you are looking for a way to make a couple of extra bucks this may be something worth looking into.
